PURCHASING A FULLY TRAINED SERVICE DOG

Service dog training is a unique type of training that requires not only a unique understanding of specialty dog training, it also requires a unique understanding of a person's needs, and it requires a unique ability to be able to work with people that have special needs; this includes empathy, compassion, and patience.

People with different disabilities have different needs and requirements, they need help, but they surely are not helpless. Most people that have come to me for a service dog are wanting to sustain or even gain a higher level of independence.

The primary reason I ended up specializing in the training and selling of service dogs, is because there was such a need for them. However, the nonprofit organizations that place with little to no charge, were so backed up with tremendously long waiting lists that people would end up searching for other options. The first service dog I trained was for a woman with Multiple Sclerosis that could afford a dog and didn't want to wait on a waiting list. Once that dog was successfully trained and placed, the ball started rolling quickly as my name was passed around to individuals with Multiple Sclerosis. I was also referred by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and worked with various Multiple Sclerosis support groups.

I have trained service dogs for people with various disabilities such as Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, Autism, the hearing impaired, and PTSD. I have always taken great pride and enjoyment from working with people with disabilities and seeing their hearts fill with joy when they meet, bond, and work with their service dogs!

One great thing about my program is that all dogs I have trained have come from a shelter or rescue situation. Therefore, if you purchase a service dog from me, you will also be saving a dog's life!

HAVING YOUR DOG TRAINED TO BE A SERVICE DOG

Having your dog trained to be a service dog can be a difficult task. The possibility and level of success will depend on many things, including your dog's genetic temperament and behaviors. One thing your dog cannot be is aggressive. Aggression is one of the main factors that will disqualify a dog from being a service dog.

Give us a call if you are interesting in having your dog trained to be a service dog.
