CAMP

Dog boot camp training is a great option for people with busy lifestyles or people that are going out of town and want to take advantage of the time they will be gone. However, dog boot camps can be tough on dogs and you want to make sure your dog is capable of handling the pressure and stress of being away and being trained. Call us today so we can discuss your situation and options.

WHY SHOULD I SEND MY DOG TO YOUR DOG BOOT CAMP TRAINING PROGRAM?

"Congratulations! you are one step closer to having an awesome dog that you can do more things with and incorporate into your life. Dog training can, and should, be a fun experience that enhances your relationship with you and your dog. Although there are many different temperaments and personalities amongst dogs, most dogs are fairly easy to train; you just needs the insight that a knowledgeable and experienced dog trainer can give you. To 'Boot Camp' or not to 'Boot Camp'? That might just be your question. The dog boot camp training program is a very popular program, for obvious reasons. Many people do not have the time, energy, patience, or strength to handle their wild and hairy beast. In most cases, the dog boot camp training program is a perfect fit, just make sure you are ready and willing to reinforce what you and your dog are being taught. Our success rate is through the roof! Call today so we can chat about the program and the process." -Jeremy Talamantes

-The dog boot camp program can be stressful on dogs. Typically, the more spoiled and out of control your dog is, he's going to have a tough time settling in and coping with the new rules and boundaries. We only take a few dogs in at a time, so that we can really spend a lot of time with each dog, get the training done, and get each dog home as soon as possible.

-Please keep in mind that one of the most important parts of our training programs is to gain reliability under distractions. Most dogs know how to sit, lay down, and come when called, but few will do it if they are distracted. Therefore, our goal is to gain the reliability that most responsible dog owners want.

-You must follow through with the training and reinforce what we have taught in order to be successful!

Commands Covered:

Sit- This is a basic command used for many purposes, including walking, feeding, greeting, etc.

Down- This command can also be used on walks, feeding, greeting, etc. It is typically used when you want your dog to be in a controlled position for a longer time period.

Place- This command is fantastic and is used a lot for younger dogs and for dogs with minor aggression issues. This command is a great way to have your dog with you more often and be able to manage your dog much better.

Heel- This command is great for when you want to walk your dog and want to have him by your side and under control.

Recall- Every dog owner should be able to say their dog will come to them whenever they call their dog! As responsible dog owners, we should all have this command mastered.

Discipline- It is very important that dogs are clear on what is allowed and what is not allowed.

NOTE: We do use corrective collars, including choker chains, prong collars, and ecollars. If you are completely against the use of corrective collars, we are probably not the right trainer for you. If you have questions about these collars and their use, feel free to ask. Thanks!

ECOLLAR NOTE: Ecollars are very effective and humane when used correctly. Ecollars can give a dog the ability to experience a sense of freedom. What we mean by that is a dog that is not trained on an ecollar will most likely have to live his life on a 6' leash, at least outside of his yard. We find it sad that a dog can never walk freely, run freely, or get to make the choice of complying or not, since he is dragged around or choked around by a leash and collar. Please do not try and use an ecollar on your dog without professional help!

WHAT ARE THE BEST AGES AND TIMES TO SEND MY DOG AWAY TO BOOT CAMP?

Please send your dog as young as possible and as early as possible. We only take dogs in that are six months to five years old. Any dog younger than six months needs to be at home bonding and going through potty training. Any dog that is over five years old, may not be able to deal with the pressure and stress of a dog boot camp training program.

If you dog is younger than six months or older than five years, feel free to give us a call so we can discuss your situation and see what options you might have. Most dogs that have been boarded throughout their lives, can handle the pressure and stress of a dog boot camp. Therefore, it is best for us to talk first in order to see if your dog is a good candidate for our dog boot camp training program.

WHAT GOES ON IN YOUR DOG BOOT CAMP PROGRAM?

Most importantly, WE NEVER OVER-CROWD! The way K-9 Behavior Services is set up is very unique. We do not have to pull in 20 to 30 dogs at one location to make money. As a matter of fact, we only pull in a few dogs at a time. We spend a lot of time with each dog, and we are very successful at meeting, and often times exceeding, our client's expectations.

Our dog boot camp program is only two weeks and very unique. We only take in a few dogs at a time and our location is fully climate controlled. For liability reasons, we do not mix dogs together, but trust me, they get a lot of stimulation through training, walks, and human interaction. We do not use outdoor kennels so your dog is not baking in the heat, nor freezing in the cold and rain.

Once wanting a Malinois, we were able to talk these awesome clients of ours into a very nice working line German Shepherd Dog. They are super happy with their choice and needed help training Chief.

Because of their love for nature and camping, it was imperative that Chief was very obedient and manageable. Chief is currently a very good boy and they are able to take Chief with them on all of their camping excursions!

Celebrity Dog Training with Dolly Martin

Daisy is a beautiful Poodle from Malibu, CA. Daisy is owned by celebrity actress, Dolly Martin, who was also married to the famous comedian, Dean Martin! Daisy came into our Malibu dog boot camp because she needed to learn some leash manners, to stop jumping up on people, to stop sniffing people's crotches, and to come when called off leash.

We had an absolute blast training Daisy! She was a pleasure to have with us. Her owner, Dolly Martin, and Dolly's assistance were all great and we all worked together to make Daisy a much more behaved dog, and more of a pleasure to spend time with.

Ooooh the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles! LA can be a crazy place to live, especially in the popular Melrose area of Los Angeles. There are people working, running, exercising, yoga'ing, rehearsing, and of course... getting their morning Starbucks fix! However, that does not mean that you can't find time to make Fido a well mannered doggy.

K-9 Behavior Services has been training dogs professionally since 1995, and has done nothing but grow and become more and more popular. With a burst of dog trainers coming onto the scene during and after the recession, it has been very important to remain relevant and accessible for dog owners that need training that is very humane, but also offers reliable results under distractions.

Yorkie Dog Boot Camp Coto De Caza 92679

DOG TRAINING, COTTO DE CAZA 92679, ORANGE COUNTY

We train them all, big and small! Is that cliche? Maybe it is, but it's true. This little guy was such a blast to train, such a great personality, and always had the ladies swooning over him! Little Yorkie, named Marmaduke, also known as Duke, loved to train, he had great food drive, which made the training much easier, especially in the initial learning phase, and he never got tired of us asking him to do things over and over.

Good dog trainers are always open to learning new things and trying new things on all breeds and sizes of dogs. Dog training is becoming more and more popular and it is always evolving. Although we often get in tough cases that require some sweat and even tears, we always welcome, enjoy, and love getting in the cool little guys!

We currently offer dog boot camp training in Orange County, Cotto De Caza, Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, San Juan Capistrano, Huntington Beach, Manhattan Beach, Long Beach, Irvine, and surrounding areas.

Private Dog Training Sierra Madre 91024

DOG TRAINING, SIERRA MADRE 91024, LOS ANGELES COUNTY

We take great pride in the training of every client and dog that we work with. Billy, Kelli, and their dogs have been great clients for many years. They recently called us to work with their new puppies, a Great Dane and a Dalmation. Billy expressed that he wanted to do something extra with them. So, I made sure and modified the training to match their interests and lifestyles. Now, both dogs are very obedient, play the tambourine, a kick drum pedal, and the Dalmation, Derby, even rides a skateboard. What a great pleasure it has been to work with these amazing people that love their dogs so much! Thanks!

We currently offer dog boot camp training in the San Gabriel Valley, Sierra Madre, Duarte, Covina, West Covina, Glendora, San Dimas, Pasadena, Arcadia, Temple City, Glendale, South Pasadena, and surrounding areas.
